Coping Skills Support
Coping skills support is focused, practical work aimed at helping you face difficult emotions and situations with more stability. We begin by identifying where you struggle most: certain triggers, times of day, interactions, or internal states that reliably unsettle you.
From there, I introduce concrete strategies for emotional regulation, such as grounding techniques, ways to slow racing thoughts, or structured steps for pausing before reacting. We choose only a few skills at a time and adapt them so they fit your temperament and daily life, rather than asking you to follow a rigid script.
Sessions often include brief practice together, planning for specific high-stress moments, and then reviewing what actually happened between meetings. Over time, you build a personal toolkit you can turn to when you feel overwhelmed, shut down, or pulled into old behavioural patterns.
This work can stand alone or be woven into longer-term online psychotherapy. In either case, consistency matters: the more often you apply skills in real situations, the more natural they become. My aim is to help you respond to distress in ways that feel steadier, kinder, and more aligned with how you would like to handle yourself.
